This scheme from Enterprise Ireland offers financial assistance of up to €25,000 to enhance your online presence, allowing you to tap into the growing global eCommerce market. The scheme is open to businesses with an established retail presence and with more than 10 employees. This scheme expired in 2023.
What does it cost?
The total cost of the project is €50,000. Enterprise Ireland will fund 50% to a maximum of €25,000.
Payments
At the end of the project, the business will pay us €50,000+vat. They will be paid back €25,000 directly from Enterprise Ireland within two weeks. We are suggesting that businesses engage with their bank and present the letter of offer to secure a bridging loan for the two weeks if they do not have the funds to hand. In 2022, grants were awarded in July and work had to be completed for the start of November.
Who Qualifies?
Butchers, pharmacies, toy shops, furniture or hardware stores, sports, bicycle, clothes/boutiques, essentially any business that sells products (not services) where 50% of their turnover comes from retail sales.

What requirements are there to qualify for the scheme?
Your business must have an established retail premises based in Ireland, with more than 50% of your turnover coming from B2C retail activities. You must employ at least 10 full time employees. You must have an existing online presence (e.g. a website, social media accounts).

Enterprise Ireland will provide funding up to the maximum grant available being €25,000.
I’ve received the grant before, can I apply again?
Absolutely, there is no limit on how many Online Retail Schemes you can receive, however the project must be different and show significant improvements over your current online activities.
How often is the Online Retail Scheme available?
The scheme typically runs once a year, and is usually announced in April/May.
How long does the project usually take to complete?
Approval is usually granted in July for your project. You typically get 3 to 4 months to complete your project and draw down the grant.
